Spring Speed Cleaning

Spring cleaning makes sense to me. The earth is waking up, throwing off its winter coat, so why shouldn’t we scrub our houses till they shine?
The only problem for me is that cleaning is typically done in spurts, usually right before guests arrive. It’s not a slow, meditative experience. It’s a crash-bang, get-it-done-as-quickly-as-possible endeavor.
The dust will be flying here today, and the smudges will be wiped, the floor will be mopped. This is all so that tomorrow, I can dress the eggs, whip up the salad and roast the turkey. So that on Easter Sunday we can welcome 24 people to this not-all-that-big house.
It’s spring speed cleaning. And I’d better get to it!
